Outdoor Facilities

We would politely request that dogs be kept on leads in outdoor spaces and any litter or rubbish be either deposited in the bins provided or taken home. This request is made so that our open spaces remain a clean, healthy and safe environment for the many visitors who use and enjoy our outdoor facilities. Thank you for your kind cooperation.

Recreation Ground

The recreation ground is a beautiful large and open playing field situated behind the school and Preston Community Center just off Mill Lane,

CT3 1HB. There is a children’s playground, picnic tables with benches and a range of play equipment for toddlers and older children. Surrounding the playing field is a natural vegetation border where children can explore wildlife under the trees.

Robinson's Meadow

The meadow was kindly left to the village by the Robinson family in 2013 and has been awarded village green status by the Parish Council. The meadow is a peaceful oasis in our village and has a number of picnic tables, benches and fire pit. Much of the meadow is left wild with meandering paths through it. There is a small open lawn area and natural dew pond which draws insects and wildlife. A Royal Oak tree was planted in the Meadow in 2012 to celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee.

Church Field Elmstone

This beautiful open area has been made over for use of the village by local farmers and provides a great spot for a picnic opposite Elmstone church. There is a table with benches and plenty of room for children to run around safely.

Allotments

For those with small or no gardens, or who love to grow their own fruit and vegetables, there are some allotments available in Mill Lane. Please contact the Parish Council Clerk Jean Swan if you are interested in

renting an allotment or would like to know more on: prestonparishclerk@outlook.com
