Strong Community = Happy Living
We are fortunate to live in a supportive, friendly and inclusive community. Preston Parish may be small but it has a big heart and if you are new to the area, it won’t be long before you make friends and enjoy all that is locally on offer. There are many local groups, clubs and events that run in the village – the best way to get involved with your community is to join in, we look forward to welcoming you? Preston & Elmstone Village Society
The Society is run by local residents for the benefit of the community and everyone who lives in the parish is automatically a member. Meetings are held at 8pm on the third Wednesday of the month at the Half Moon & Seven Stars pub, we discuss local campaigns, events and points of local interest or concern, as well as using the meeting as an excuse for a social get together! Everyone has a voice and we welcome your involvement.
Preston Parish Council
In Preston Parish we have seven members sitting on our Parish Council. They make all kinds of decisions on issues that affect the local community. Probably the most common topics they get involved with are planning matters (they are statutory consulates), crime prevention, managing open spaces and campaigning for and delivering better services and facilities. Meetings are held at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of the month at Preston Community Centre and the public is welcome to come along to meetings.
Preston Community Centre
A hub of activity where a range of local clubs, events and activities take place. There is a small car park for visitors to use and a notice board which highlights up-coming events. The recreation ground lays to the back of the hall and provides a wide open space and playground.
